Bence Bacskai won the Traditional
Hungarian winner again, Bence Bacskai won the Regional Tour 500 tournament, the Traditional Footgolf Cup in 2021 in the Hungarian Golf Club, Kisoroszi.
The first day was entertaining and it seemed, there will be a lot of contenders for the title. One thing was certain, Dusan Vangel could not defend his title again, the winner of the 2019 and 2020 Traditional Footgolf Cup could not participate in it. Juraj Gubáni (SVK) and Bence Bacskai (HUN) were the leaders after the first day involving Tomas Bartko (SVK) and Gábor Simonyi (HUN) in the final flight. The chasing group was so close to them, 10 players were only 4 kicks behind the leaders.
Bacskai was the one, who could escape and at one point of the tournament he had six kick-lead. Finally he won the tournament by 2 kicks and could lift the trophy again after 2018.
“I had hard times in the last one and a half year. I had surgery, I had rehabilitation and I only wanted to come back and enjoy the game. I was ill before the Traditional but last week I felt the power, the precision, the pace and all the things came back. Today was the seventh time in this week I played footgolf, which helped me a lot. I hardly can say anything now, it is an emotional moment” – said right after the tournament the winner.
Gubáni and Simonyi tied on the second place and needed to decided the silver medal on a 3 hole-playoff. Tied on the first then Gubáni scored a hole in one meant a one kick lead before the final hole. He was better on the last one also winning the playoff with this extra performance.
Gábor Renczés (HUN) won the senior category ahead of Csaba Balázsi (HUN) and László Biró (HUN).
Lucia Cermakova (SVK) won the ladies category by 10 kicks ahead of Andrea Dreilinger (HUN) and Anna Bacskai (HUN).
Artúr Sipőcz (HUN) was the best among the juniors beating Dániel Kenéz (HUN) and Sándor Karvasz (HUN).
