Ben Clarke won the Grand Slam
The 2019 European FootGolf Grand Slam series ended in Portugal. The Grand Final was won by Jan Willam Baas. After a windy tournament, the World Tour leader Ben Clarke won the Grand Slam title. Fabio Mazzer became the senior, while Susanne Berg the women champion of Europe.
The FootGolf Grand Slam Final in Portugal was planned for a three day long event, but because of the weather circumstances, the first round on Friday was cancelled during the game. The course in Castro Marim was playable on Saturday and Sunday, but one hole on the final day was cancelled also.
After a windy tournament, two Dutch footgolfers, Jan Willam Baas and Wesley van den Broek tied on the first place. The Grand Final title went to Baas after the playoff. Ben Clarke (UK) reached the podium beating Marco Pavan (ITA) in the shootout.
After the seven stages (counting the best 4 + the final) Ben Clarke became the 2019 European FootGolf Grand Slam champion. Marco Pavan won the silver, while last year’s winner, Nico Garcia (ARG) the bronze medal.
Fabio Mazzer (ITA) won the senior, while Susanne Berg (NOR) the ladies’ category in Portugal which helped them to celebrate as the season’s best over 45 and woman footgolfer in Europe.
